ESPN will no longer broadcast the games of the National Basketball Association, the sports network announced Monday.
ESPN also pulled a video of NBA players playing a pregame celebration.
The move comes as President Donald Trump has made it clear that he believes the media is the enemy of the American people.
ESPN had broadcasted its coverage of the presidential inauguration earlier in the day.
“Today we’ve decided to end the partnership with ESPN to make way for new direction for our company,” ESPN said in a statement.
“We will be working to ensure that we are providing high-quality content to our viewers, and we look forward to working with them in the years to come.”ESPN said it had a new ownership group headed by chairman and CEO Jeff Bewkes, who took over the company last month.
ESPN has been under scrutiny for its coverage and decision to cut ties with President Donald J. Trump.
