The Latest on Mets outfielder Carlos Gomez (knee) and Mets starter Jon Lester (ankle)

By Mike GarafoloAssociated Press – LOS ANGELES (AP) Carlos Gomez and Jon Lester have both been ruled out for the week and will be sidelined until the end of the regular season.

Both pitchers were injured in a game in Los Angeles on Friday night.

Gomez’s right knee buckled under his right boot, which caused him to miss the remainder of the game and the first half of the second half.

He was placed on the 15-day disabled list.

Lester’s left knee buckles in a similar manner.

His left leg and left knee are both swollen, so he will not be able to pitch for a few days.

He will be in Los Vegas for the World Baseball Classic.

The Dodgers will play the Mets in a three-game series in St. Louis on Sunday.

The series is the first of a three series in the series.

The Mets have a 2-5 record with Gomez out.

Lester has a 5-2 record with the Mets.
