
Posted November 13, 2018 06:04:04 A drone footage shows a burning N. Carolina church as firefighters battle the blaze that killed at least six people in Florida on Friday.
The video, posted on the Instagram account of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, shows the scene in Orlando, Florida, where the blaze began at 2 p.m. local time.
Firefighters are seen pushing a firefighter’s gear through the wreckage of the church, which was engulfed in flames.
One firefighter can be seen pulling a woman from a burning vehicle that was engulfed.
The church is located at 906 N. Franklin St., in Orlando.
A spokesperson for the LDS Church confirmed that the church was notified about the incident.
The fire was reported at the church on Friday morning.
“We are working to secure the area,” the spokesperson told ABC News.
The LDS Church released the following statement: “We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives during this tragic fire.
The Church is deeply saddened by the loss of life and our thoughts and prayers are with those who are hurt and their families.”
The church has not released the names of the victims, but they are believed to be in their early 30s.
The Associated Press reported that at least three people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, and that more than 40 people were being treated for smoke inhalation.
“The Church condemns the senseless and intentional violence that occurred in Orlando on Friday,” the church said in a statement.
“Our hearts are with the families of the deceased.
