Padres to host live game of Texas A&M baseball at 5:30 p.m. PT, officials say

A live baseball game between the San Diego Padres and Texas A & M will be played on Saturday night at the Los Angeles Coliseum, according to a news release.

Padres general manager Ned Colletti said the team will host the game at 5 p.l.m., and that the stadium will open for the game just before 7 p.t. on Saturday.

The game will air on ESPN.com.

The A& M game will also be televised on ESPN’s UniMas, a local cable channel, according the release.

Padres pitchers Will Venable, who will be playing for the first time in his career, and Matt Wieters will be available for batting practice, according Collettni.

The A& m game is the team’s seventh scheduled in its new home, and the first since the team moved to Los Angeles from Oakland in July.

A&m’s roster currently includes three players from the Padres: shortstop Tyler Matzek, catcher Bryan Holaday, and third baseman Logan Morrison.

The Padres’ home opener against the San Francisco Giants is set for Sept. 5 at Dodger Stadium.
