LIVE FROM DALLAS: Trump will be the keynote speaker at a Donald Trump Inauguration Ceremony.
The event is being hosted by Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and the former Republican presidential candidate himself.
Ahead of the ceremony, Trump told the crowd at a rally that he will be watching the parade, but the US is “not going to be a great country”.
“I am watching the inauguration from the stage.
It’s going to take place in the Capitol Building,” Trump said.
“I am going to have the honor of being here with you and all the people who are going to love America.
But we’re not going to go to war with anybody, OK?
We’re not.
We’re going to stand together, we’re going not to do that.”
Trump has been widely criticised for his comments about women and minorities and for his use of racial slurs during his presidential campaign.
The US has never formally invited a Muslim or a woman to attend.
Trump’s inauguration on Friday marks the first time the US has formally invited an individual to the event.
The speech by Trump, who has been in the US for more than a decade, will also be broadcast live on the 6abc news channel.
